The pie's the limit in brookfield.
It just goes to show that when you find something you love (or it finds you), the sky’s the limit. I began working at Glass Nickel Pizza as a daytime phone person at the Madison East location. I enjoyed the people and the job so much that I wanted to learn everything about the pizza business and GNP. So I moved from phones to the pizza kitchen, and learned everything from opening to closing from an awesome bunch of people.
I realized I loved making great food and providing great service. So I continued to hone my skills for a year in Milwaukee then back to Madison to become manager at Madison East. Two years later, I was traveling to other GNP stores helping them build and grow their businesses from the experience I gained over 10 years.
Then, serendipity stepped in. As I was helping other owners, the ownership for the Brookfield store came available. And member of the GNP family looked me straight in the eyes and said, “You know, that would be a great opportunity for someone”. So with hint taken, I dove in.
My favorite part of this job is making people happy, while just having a great time at work. You may see us joking, or singing at the top of our lungs to bad music. But you’ll always find us making excellent food, providing top service and being active within the community with donations, sponsorships, and sweet deals. So from phones to ownership, I’m proud to bring the GNP tradition to the great people in the Brookfield area. To me, that’s a sky-high feeling.
SOMEONE CHOP A GREEN PEPPER!
With those five immortal words, Glass Nickel Pizza Co. set out on a dream to offer the best pizza in town. Opening November 5th, 1997 on Atwood Avenue in Madison, Wisconsin, the first store was abuzz with excitement and orders. We will never forget the first call for our Deluxe Pizza and the subsequent shout from the kitchen, “We need green pepper! Someone chop a green pepper!” Three days later our first employee was hired. Today, not only is he still a part of our family, but our GM.
